1. Purpose
MSL is a nonprofit organization committed to providing a safe,
respectful, and academically focused environment for all students. This
Code of Conduct ensures that everyone involved upholds the values of
respect, responsibility, and safety.
2. Expected Behavior
All students, parents, and staff are expected to:
- Treat others with respect and kindness

Follow the instructions of teachers, tutors, and volunteers without
argument
- Attend all sessions on time, prepared, and ready to learn
- Bring notebook, pen/pencil, and required materials

Use school facilities responsibly, especially restrooms and classrooms
- Dress in a modest and appropriate manner
- Walk, not run, in hallways and common areas
- Follow all safety guidelines and emergency procedures
3. Attendance Policy
- Attendance is mandatory.

Students who are absent for more than 3 sessions during the academic
year may be dismissed from the program.

Exceptions may be made for medical or family emergencies with prior
communication and documentation.

Parents must inform MSL staff in advance when a student will be
absent.
4. Prohibited Behavior
The following actions are not permitted during MSL sessions:

Using mobile phones or other devices during sessions unless it is an
emergency in such cases,
- Misuse of restrooms (e.g., vandalism, leaving trash, lingering)
- Eating without cleaning up or leaving food mess behind
- Talking, joking, or interrupting during lessons
- Disrespecting staff, including tutors and volunteers

Recording or photographing anyone without permission (especially
posting on social media without consent)
- Running in hallways or roughhousing
- Wearing inappropriate clothing

Failure to sign in or out properly (parents must do so, not children)
- Attending without school supplies
- Bullying, including verbal abuse, exclusion, or intimidation
- Fighting or any form of physical aggression
5. Parent & Guardian Responsibilities
Parents and guardians are expected to:
- Ensure students are dropped off and picked up on time
- Sign in and out their child every session

Communicate respectfully with MSL staff and follow all procedures
- Reinforce expectations of behavior, dress, and preparation
- Report any concerns or incidents to staff promptly
6. Consequences of Misconduct
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in:
- Verbal warning
- Written warning (sent to parents/guardians)
- Parent-student-staff conference
- Temporary suspension from the program
- Permanent dismissal from MSL (in serious or repeated cases)
Note: Physical fights, bullying, and social media
violations will be treated with zero tolerance and may result in
immediate suspension.
7. Reporting Issues
Students, parents, and staff should report misconduct, bullying, or any
safety concerns to an MSL staff member immediately. Confidentiality will
be maintained when appropriate.
8. Agreement
By participating in MSL, students and parents/guardians agree to this
Code of Conduct. Failure to follow the rules may impact a student's
continued participation in the program.
