Princess Anne, MD – October 19, 2024

The energy was high as MSL officially welcomed 114 students to the first day of its 2024-2025 academic year on Saturday, October 19, at the Engineering Building of UMES in Princess Anne, Maryland. Students arrived bright and early at 10:00 AM to sign in and were grouped according to their grade levels: grades 1-5, grades 6-8, and grade 9.

After receiving their individual schedules, students jumped right into action. At 10:30 AM, the groups rotated through a variety of engaging activities every 45 minutes. Some dove into computer science lessons, others sharpened their public speaking skills, and another group embarked on an exciting tour of a local science festival. These rotations ensured that every student experienced a mix of STEM learning and fun throughout the morning.

At 1:00 PM, the students gathered for lunch, giving them time to recharge and connect with peers. Following lunch, it was time to focus on academics with the MSL Math Placement Exam, starting at 2:00 PM. Students ended the day with sign-outs beginning at 3:30 PM, marking the conclusion of a successful first day.

This year’s curriculum includes a range of exciting subjects, such as an introduction to computer science, AI basics, mathematics, and public speaking. With a team of 40 tutors and over five experienced instructors, MSL is dedicated to providing students with the support they need to succeed.
